PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO COVID 19 ALTERNATIVE SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS ARE IN PLACE FOR SOME SUNDAYS. SEE HERE FOR MORE DETAILS
We begin with drinks (Fresh Coffee, Tea or Juice) in the foyer of St Mark's, find a seat and someone to talk to. Then the contemporary service begins at 4.00pm.
We'll have a time of sung worship; then announcements and some prayers will be led. Then we'll hear God speak to us as a passage from the Bible is read and explained. We'll respond to God's Word in song and other ways. Afterwards, we head over to the hall for light refreshments and conversation.
What about my children?
We love having children at St. Mark's Community Church. A number of families with children attend St Mark's community church & there's lots of space for the children to run around before and after the service, if that's what they like to do.
We begin the service together, and after 15 minutes the children have the option to go to Sparks (7 to 11) or Sparklers (3 to 7), which meet in the hall for songs, activities & Bible teaching appropriate to them. There is also a créche area for parents and their children (0 to 3) & a young people's study group: Ygnite (11-14). See below for more details. [All of our volunteers have current DBS clearance].
Who is St. Mark's Community Church suitable for? Is there a dress code?
Anyone. We aim to be as welcoming and accessible as we can. No-one is too bad or too good! You can wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
Créche (0 to 3)
We know that our youngest family members need a bit of extra wriggle room during a service.
As of Sept 2017, we have a manned créche led by Liz and another leader in the church hall. Please accompany your child across to the hall when the older children leave, where they can play and make noise - allowing you to engage with the service.
